More Pics
Sometimes, I think it would be better if I didn't mess with the pictures - here's what Tiffy and Miss Priss look like freshly taken out in the great sunshine. I try to show all the distressing, but I think it just looks washed out online. Thanks for taking the time to look!

Rosa
Miss Prissy
If you can't be a good example -- then you'll just have to be a horrible warning. -Catherine-
Barnyard Gossip
Clara: “Just look at that there Miss Prissy, Thelma! She thinks she's ALL THAT.”
Thelma: “We're just as good as her, Clara. And don't you forget it.”
Clara: “Where ever did she get that outfit?”
Thelma: “I don't know, but Crystal down at the Hair Palace, says she heard from Betty Sue over at the Five-and-Dime that she orders them online from some fashion boutique or other all the way up yonder in New York City!”
Clara: “Online! Ya mean with a computer? - My Gracious! And all the way from New York City? Bless my soul...Well, if that's how they dress up yonder in that there New York City – I want NO part of it! Why Thelma, what ever would the girls in our Sunday school class say if'n we dolled up and dressed like that?”
Thelma: “Why Clara...they'd say we looked like we'd done been dipped in glue and drug through a flea market!!” Giggle, giggle....
Clara: “How true, Thelma...how true.” Giggle, giggle...

Tiffany Carrington - Fashionista Cow...
Tiffany Carrington – Tiffy to her friends – is a fashionista cow. She struts her stuff in the open pasture runway and grazes at all the finest bistro grass plains. Her beverage of choice is a domestic green grass skinny half caf half decaf with a fresh cream kicker and a sprig of dandelion. Her passion is to one day own a pair of Jimmy Choo red peep-toe pumps in her size – extra wide round. But we'll talk about that later. Right now, Tiffy's fashion craze centers on the truly unique vintage styles of the Grand Ole Opry – Nashville, Tennessee circa 1960s. As you can see, Tiffy is simply spectacular in the updated “Minnie Pearl” look, with the price tag in her ear, of course, as straw hats are SO LAST season!

Wings of Love...
Kinfolk....
Meet Cuzins "Cletus Earl" and "Curtis Wayne"!
These are painted on vintage dresser drawers 32"x14 1/2" with a depth of 6 1/2 ". The sides are painted in a chicken wire pattern. Lots of texture and depth of color with a cool crackle finish that just doesn't show up on the pics... :(
Cletus Earl's (yellow background) words of wisdom: "Today is the last day of some of your life."
Curtis Wayne's (blue background) words of wisdom: " It's frustrating when you know all the answers, but nobody bothers to ask you the questions."
My son, while a much better photographer than I, slightly tilted the paintings so the pics are difficult to crop and appear a little "wonky"...kinfolk!!...what can ya do?!? Thanks for looking!

You: Interrupting MOOOOOooooooo! Cow who?...
You: Dang Interrupting Cow!

Birds of a Feather...
Howdy Ya'll! I've started a new series entitled "Birds of a Feather." Here's one of those quirky dudes I've named "Casual Joe". Joe is a hoot! He's all about passing on his sarcastic words of wisdom and his latest news is "Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines." By the way, Ole Joe don't care too much for Eagles (psst...he's jealous, don't ya know). Casual Joe is 7.25"x5" wood canvas with yummy texture and knobby knees from gel medium, vintage and tissue papers, painted with acrylic paints and inks and sealed in a matte UV sealer. Thanks as always, for your interest!

...and this little piggie...
Howdy Ya'll! Here's my latest pic...
Hog Day Afternoon
I'm pleased to introduce you to ABRA.HAM!
He's a cutie. The camera doesn't show the vibrant rich colors and texture - 18X18 on a wood canvas, Abra.ham is painted with acrylics, India Ink and a whole lot of stress-out-ness attitude. Here's his quote:
“(sniff) Do you smell bacon? Cause, I'm sure I smell bacon! That is bacon, isn't it? I knew I smelled bacon! Don't you smell it? It smells just like bacon doesn't it? (Sniff) Don't tell me it's not bacon, cause I should think I know bacon when I smell bacon and THAT is definitely bacon! (Sniff, Sniff) I knew it, I just knew I smelled bacon! Ooooooh, This is not at all the day I had planned.”

New Art!
Howdy Ya'll! New art is now available at Slick Rock in Lake Lure! Here's a wild dude aptly named "Wild Ron" (and hairy too!). His motto: "chicks dig me..." Of course! What an attitude! Wild Ron is 8x32 on wood canvas. Remember, I'm not a photographer. He's much more colorful in person. (I really do need to invest in photography lessons...). See ya'll soon...

XerXes, The Wonder Chicken!
Howdy Ya'll!
As promised - here is one of my "chicken nugget" chickens - XerXes, the Wonder Chicken! Such an attitude! His quote is "...and I ain't finger-lickin' good, either!" XerXes is 3'x2', wood canvas with lots of layers of acrylics, inks and pencil. Remember, I'm not a photographer - the original is beautifully colored and bright. Hope you enjoy this quirky dude!

Where has the time gone?
Howdy Ya'll! I can't believe it's been a month since my last post and still no new paintings! Sure, I'm working on 9 new canvases, but they are no where near picture ready. Thankfully, fall baseball is over and no more sports until basketball practice in December! I'm hoping that's where my time has been spent. Oh, and I hope you noticed the new "decor" on my blog...Since my paintings are distressed and layered, I wanted to find a blog background that conveyed the same sentiment. Hopefully at least one completed picture will be posted before Thanksgiving! See ya soon!

"Falling" Back In...
Howdy ya'll! Alas the summer is over and with the fall comes a return to "normal", with school and holiday activities. Hope your summer was a blast! This summer I decided trying to "find" time to paint was like herding ants - so I've just taken time when I needed it. This seems to be working out well and it's amazing my family can actually clean up after supper and do the dishes! Who would have thought....
I'm starting a new series entitled "Chicken Nuggets...words of inspiration from some wise old birds"...these are a hoot!
Yes, my website has been discontinued - I needed to perform an electronic de-clutter! The website was a pain in the neck (as well as various and sundry other areas too) and I enjoy the blog much more. My pics can still be seen on the blog and I can be reached via email at pickyeunice@bellsouth.net. Please keep in touch - new pics coming soon!
